The body of a 34-year-old woman was discovered on the grounds at St Dympna's Hospital in Carlow in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The woman was not a patient at the hospital.
The body, which was found lying beside a park bench on public grounds, was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital for a post mortem examination.
Gardaí say they are not treating her death as suspicious.
