An 82-year-old man has appeared before Dublin District Court following his extradition from the US, to face charges of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy 42 years ago.
The man was charged with two sexual offences against the boy in 1968.
The alleged incidents happened at different locations in the west of Ireland.
The court heard evidence that the man was arrested this morning at Dublin Airport.
In response to the charges the court heard he denied the offences.
There was no application for bail and the man will appear again in the District Court on Wednesday.
