Raoul Moat - CCTV footage released by police

Police in Northumbria have released new CCTV images of fugitive gunman Raoul Moat, who remains at large for a sixth day.

The pictures show the 37-year-old former nightclub bouncer with a distinctive mohican-style haircut in a Newcastle shop on Friday.

He is wearing a tight-fitting bright orange T-shirt with dark jeans and white runners.

Mr Moat, who is wanted for murder and attempted murder, is believed to be hiding out in remote countryside surrounding the village of Rothbury.

Meanwhile, two men arrested during the hunt for the former nightclub bouncer have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and possession of a firearm.

They are due before Newcastle Magistrates' Court today.

Mr Moat has made threats towards the wider public, according to Northumbria Police.

Armed officers - supported by dog handlers - carried out thorough searches of the Rothbury area through the night.

Temporary Deputy Chief Constable Jim Campbell said: 'I'd like to thank again the residents of Rothbury for their support and patience at what is an unprecedented level of activity for them to see in their rural location.

'The searches in this area have proved a particular challenge due to the open farmland and dense woodland and officers are continuing in their efforts today.

'I'd like to reassure the public that we are doing everything possible to locate Moat and bring this investigation to a conclusion.

'Although much of the investigation centres on Rothbury, the events in this area are just one part of a complex investigation and activity continues across the force.'

Police also renewed their appeal for help from the public to trace Mr Moat.

Mr Campbell said: 'We continue to seek help from the public to trace him and if anyone sees him they should call the police straight away. They should also report any suspicious activity to us.'
