Two men, aged 20 and 18, have appeared in court and denied the murder of a 16-year-old Ukrainian teenager in Limerick two years ago.
At the Central Criminal Court sitting in Limerick, 20-year-old John O’Loughlin of Cecil Street, Limerick, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Roman Vysochan on 10 May 2008.
He admitted to a charge of assaulting another teenager at the Carraig Midhe estate, Corbally, on the same date.
A second accused man 18-year-old Anthony Mason from Bishop Street, Limerick, also denied the murder of the 16-year-old and a charge of assault on the same date.
An application to have the two men tried separately was refused by Mr Justice Paul Carney.
The trial was adjourned until tomorrow morning after a problem arose with one of the jurors.
