Two men are being questioned following the discovery of cocaine with an estimated street value of €200,000 in a car near Dundalk last night.
A Northern Ireland registered car was stopped during a routine patrol on the M1.
Gardaí became suspicious when they discovered the passenger was carrying a knife.
The two occupants, both from Northern Ireland, were taken to Dundalk Garda Station.
The cocaine was discovered during a search of the car.
The men, aged 29 and 33, are being held under drugs trafficking legislation.
