A man arrested in connection with a robbery in Newry last night has been released, pending further inquiries.
A woman was shot during the attempted armed robbery.
The PSNI says a man with a handgun entered a gaming arcade on Upper Water Street just before midnight and demanded cash from a female member of staff.
He then shot her in the stomach, before fleeing empty-handed.
The woman was taken to hospital with injuries, which are described as serious but not life-threatening.
Detectives say they would like to speak to anyone who noticed a slim male of average height in the area.
The man was wearing a blue tracksuit top, dark tracksuit bottoms with white stripes, a light coloured baseball cap and a scarf or bandana to cover his face.
