British police investigating the deaths of three women working as prostitutes in Bradford have recovered what are thought to be human remains in the River Aire.
The remains were found about 200 yards from where the remains of Suzanne Blamires were found on Tuesday.
Police have been looking for the remains of the two other women.
Stephen Griffiths, aged 40, is charged with the murders of Ms Blamires, Shelley Armitage and Susan Rushworth.
Ms Blamires was last seen on Friday, 21 May, while Ms Armitage, 31, has been missing since Monday, 26 April, and Ms Rushworth, 43, disappeared on 22 June last year.
When he was asked for his name at Bradford Magistrates Court yesterday, Stephen Griffiths replied: ‘The crossbow cannibal.’
Asked for his address, the suspect, who was wearing a black shirt and navy blue jeans, replied: ‘Erm ... here I guess.’
Relatives of some of the victims were in court for the hearing.
Stephen Griffiths is a psychology graduate who was undertaking postgraduate research in criminology at Bradford University.
He was arrested on Monday at his home on the edge of Bradford's red-light district.
