An investigation is under way following the attempted robbery of a bookmakers’ in Littlepace, Clonee, Dublin 15, yesterday.
The incident occurred at around 3.15pm when a man entered the premises with a suspected firearm.
However, the raid failed when the man was tackled and disarmed by an off-duty garda.
The man subsequently escaped on foot.
Gardaí have described the suspect as aged between 18 and 26, approximately 5’11” in height, of slim build and with short, light brown hair.
He was wearing a grey-coloured chequered hooded top, navy blue tracksuit bottoms and white running shoes.
