Seven men arrested last week as part of a major garda operation in Limerick city have all been remanded in custody for a further two weeks.

Ger Dundon, Michael Bridgeman, Gareth Keogh-Collins, David McCormack, James Collins, Christopher McCarthy and Christopher McCormack appeared at Limerick District Court on a number of charges including assault and threatening to kill.

All the men have addresses in the Ballinacurra Weston and Garryowen areas of the city.

There was no application for bail for any of them, but the State indicated it would be objecting to the men being released on bail.

The seven men were remanded to appear by video link at the court on 12 May.
