RTÉ News has learned that just seven of Ireland's senators have participated in all votes held in the Seanad so far this year.
In total the upper house sat for 29 days since the start of 2010, with members voting on 46 separate occasions.
Figures show that over half of the 59 senators have taken part in more than 85% of the votes.
According to the analysis, the Independent Senator Eoghan Harris has voted on just 9 out of the 46 occasions. It is believed he has been ill.
Sinn Féin's Pearse Doherty voted in less than half of the divisions.
Independent Senator Feargal Quinn voted 24 times, while Labour's Brendan Ryan participated in around 56% of votes.
Of the seven senators who have taken part in all votes five are from Fianna Fáil. They are Martin Brady, Maria Corrigan, Geraldine Feeney, Kieran Phelan and Diarmuid Wilson.
FG's Jerry Buttimer and the Green Party’s Niall Ó Brolcháin
also have 100% voting records.
