Gardaí in Edgeworthstown in Co Longford are investigating a petrol bomb attack on a house in the town tonight.
It is understood the incident happened at a house on the Longford side of Edgeworthstown in the last hour.
The N4 Dublin to Sligo road has been closed.
Gardaí are investigating reports that an explosive device has been left in the area.
The fire service and Gardai are at the scene.
