A 33-year-old Cork man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man whose body was found in a shed in Cork city yesterday.

Timothy O'Driscoll of St Rita's Avenue in Gurranabraher appeared before a special sitting of Cork District Court this evening charged with the murder of 25-year-old Lee McCarthy.

O'Driscoll was remanded in custody by consent to appear before the court again on Tuesday next.

His solictor Frank Buttimer applied for free legal aid and for his client to get any medical attention or medicines that he needs while in custody.

Both applications were granted by Judge Brian Sheridan.
