Detectives were today questioning a man about the stabbing of a teenager in Northern Ireland.

The 17-year-old victim was knifed in the neck during an assault in north Belfast.

Police said the youngster was set upon in the Carlisle Road and Victoria Parade area at around 9pm last night.

He was taken to hospital where his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 24-year-old man was arrested and is being questioned by police about the attack.

Investigating officers have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
