Northern Ireland's new Minister of Justice David Ford will meet his Dublin counterpart Dermot Ahern for the first time on Friday.
The meeting at Castle Buildings in Stormont is also expected to be attended by PSNI Chief Constable Matt Baggott and Garda Commissioner Fachtna Murphy.
A range of issues will be on the agenda, among them the ongoing threat from dissident republicans.
Mr Ford held his first meeting with Mr Baggott yesterday.
He is also due to meet the chair and deputy chair of the Policing Board later this week.
