Pope Benedict XVI is willing to meet more victims of sexual abuse, according to his spokesman.

There has been a mixed response from victims. Olan Horne, who has already met the Pope has called for the appointment of a survivor board to work in tandem with the Vatican.

However the US-based Survivors' Network for People Abused by Priests said it wanted substance and not symbols.

The offer to meet more victims considerably widens the scope of one made to Irish victims in the Pastoral letter. But there is no elaboration on how many nationalities he might meet, where or when.
