Four men are being sought following an attempted robbery during a cash delivery to an ATM in Drogheda.
The incident happened at the Marian Stores in Marian Park just after 3pm as a security van was making a delivery to the ATM in the Marian Stores.
An employee approached the machine to prepare it but as he did so, he saw a man get out of a van parked nearby and approached him brandishing a shotgun.
The security man, who was not carrying cash, ran from the scene, while other employees stayed in the security van.
A black Volkswagen Golf then pulled up and the raider and the driver of the van both got in. That car was found abandoned shortly afterwards.
The gang escaped with no money.
The van had been taken yesterday in Malahide while the Golf was stolen on St Patrick's Day.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious this afternoon to come forward and contact them in Drogheda Garda Station.
