The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland has rejected a number of complaints about the decision of TV3 to broadcast a report revealing that Finance Minister Brian Lenihan is suffering from cancer.
The broadcast on 26 December last year last prompted many complaints but the authority has now ruled that it was factual and accurate.
The broadcast also fell within the requirements of the fairness, objectivity and impartiality rule, the authority said.
