Gardaí have released former Anglo Irish Bank official William McAteer without charge.
A file is to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Mr McAteer is the bank's former Finance Director and Chief Risk Officer.
He was arrested early yesterday morning at his home in Dublin.
