A man has died following a shooting in Dundalk.
The man, who is in his 40s, was visiting a house in the Salttown area when two men burst into the house just before 7pm this evening and shot him at least once.
The man was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Dundalk where he later died from his injuries.
Gardaí believe the two men may have left the scene in a white Toyota Corolla hatchback.
The house has been sealed off for a garda technical examination.
