The former Principal Biochemist in the Blood Transfusion Service Board, Cecily Cunningham, has failed in her bid to secure legal costs from the State.
Charges against Ms Cunningham, relating to the infection of women with Hepatitis C, were dropped by the State at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court last year.
Today at the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, Mr Justice Desmond Hogan ruled against Ms Cunningham's application for payment of her legal costs arising out of that action.
The only other person charged in connection with the Hepatitis C saga was Dr Terry Walsh, formerly Assistant National Director with the BTSB, but these proceedings collapsed on his death.
Ms Cunningham, of Hollybrook Road, Clontarf, Dublin 3, was represented by Michael McDowell, SC, while the State was represented by Shane Murphy, SC.
