A man arrested by police investigating the murders of two British soldiers in Northern Ireland has been released unconditionally.

The 44-year-old was arrested yesterday in the Toomebridge area of Co Antrim over the murders of the two soldiers and the attempted murders of five other people in a gun attack at the Massereene Barracks in Co Antrim last March.

The PSNI said he was released last night.

Sappers Patrick Azimkar, 21, and Mark Quinsey, 23, died in the Massereene shootings.

Two men have already been charged with the murders.
