Gardaí have foiled an alleged attempted armed robbery on a shop in the Dublin suburb of Tallaght.
The incident occurred at the shop on Fortunestown Lane at 8.20am this morning.
Gardaí were confronted by two men at the scene, who were armed with a knife and what is believed to be a firearm. The two men, who are both in their 30s, were arrested at the scene.
They are being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
One of the arrested men was taken to hospital with what are described as minor injuries.
