Michael Barrett - known as pop star Shakin' Stevens - has appeared in court in Co Antrim in connection with an assault.
The 61-year-old appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court accused of assaulting freelance photographer Hugo McNeice in December last year.
The alleged assault took place in the Tullyglass House Hotel in Ballymena.
Mr Barrett is also accused of unlawfully damaging a 35mm camera belonging to Mr McNeice, who had gone to the hotel to takes photos of the singer, who was appearing in concert there.
Shakin' Stevens, who comes from Wales, was the top selling UK male artist of the 1980s, with a string of No 1 hits, including 'Green Door', 'This Ole House', and 'Merry Christmas Everyone'.
