Sinn Féin Vice President Mary Lou McDonald had her car set on fire in Dublin city this evening.
Ms McDonald was holding an advice clinic when gardaí contacted her shortly before 6pm to say her Nissan Micra had been attacked on Seville Place.
Sinn Féin spokesman Sean MacBradaigh said it was believed to be a random act of vandalism.
He said Ms McDonald was a 'bit taken aback' but carried on with her clinic where she was dealing with complaints of similar problems in the area.
Ms McDonald had her car stolen twice before in other areas.
