The trial of a man accused of the murder of Derry woman Jean Quigley has been adjourned until tomorrow.
37-year-old Stephen Cahoon, of Harvey Street in Derry, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of the mother-of-four at her home in Cornshell Fields in Shantallow in Derry last year.
Under the Criminal Law Jurisdiction Act of 1976, suspects can be tried in the republic for alleged offences in Britain and Northern Ireland.
Mr Cahoon is the first person to go before a jury in the Republic for a non-terrorist offence in Northern Ireland.
In the Central Criminal Court, Mr Justice Patrick McCarthy told the jury that counsel for the prosecution and the defence were making efforts to simplify matters in a complex trial and the trial would have to be adjourned.
