Former Late Late Show host Pat Kenny was RTÉ's highest paid star in 2007 and 2008, earning over €950,000 last year alone.
Radio host Gerry Ryan was the second highest paid star in figures released by the national broadcaster today.
RTÉ Director General Cathal Goan has admitted the fees paid appear 'excessive' by today's standards and said they are being reduced in line with RTÉ's cost cutting programme.
There were few surprises on the list of RTÉ highest paid stars - although eyebrows may be raised at the figures unveiled today.
In 2007 Pat Kenny earned €922,000, with this figure rising to over €950,000 in 2008.
