An aviation broker has pleaded guilty to conspiring to smuggle an estimated €10m worth of heroin and cocaine into Ireland three years ago.

39-year-old John Kinsella who has an address at Carenwood, Johnstown, Co Meath, pleaded guilty at the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court this morning.

The drugs were found in the luggage of a passenger boarding a private plane in Wevelgem Airport in Belgium, which was bound for Weston Airport in Dublin.

Mr Kinsella is due to be sentenced on Thursday.
