A 44-year-old man arrested on Tuesday over the murder of Robert Coggles in north Belfast in 1986 has been released, pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
Mr Coggles, aged 31, was found in the Carr's Glen area 12 days after he was shot dead on 16 August, 1986. It is believed the UVF was responsible.
The suspect was arrested by detectives from the Historical Enquiries Team and subsequently interviewed.
Meanwhile in a separate inquiry, PSNI detectives have been given a further 24 hours to question a 60-year-old man arrested in east Belfast on Tuesday.
He was held by detectives from the crime branch investigating the murder of 65-year-old Stanley Close in east Belfast.
Mr Close was found strangled in his flat at Campton Close, in the Willowfield area, also in August 1986.
