Two men were arrested following a robbery in Co Derry in which a middle-aged man was punched to the ground.

The two, aged 19 and 34, are being questioned about an attack in the Foyle Street area of the city at around 9pm last night.

The victim - who is in his mid-50s - was walking down the street when he was attacked by one man and forced to the ground; a second man went through his pockets and took two mobile phones.

He suffered cuts to his face in the attack.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
