Gardaí are questioning a woman after a 42-year-old man was stabbed to death in Tallaght, Dublin.

Gardaí are today trying to piece together what happened at the house at Pairc Gleann Trasna, Aylesbury, at around 7.20pm yesterday evening.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman in her 30s has been arrested and is being held at Tallaght Garda Station.

The house has been sealed off for a forensic examination.

A post mortem examination was due to have been carried out today.

It is understood gardaí are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

Separately, a 42-year-old man remains in a critical condition in hospital after he was stabbed a number of times on Thursday night in Cork.

The man sustained injuries to his face, throat, back and legs during the attack which happened at Inis Mór Drive, Ballincollig.

Gardaí believe the man was an innocent victim of an ongoing drug related feud between a gang from north Cork and a group from Ballincollig.
