Gardaí have released the name of the Romanian woman found stabbed to death in the Phoenix Park almost two weeks ago.

Eugenia Bratis, aged 50, from Timisoara in Romania died after being repeatedly stabbed in the upper body.

Gardaí have established that Eugenia Bratis had been travelling back and forth from Romania since 2007 and in recent times had been seen begging on the O'Connell Bridge and O'Connell Street areas.

Her body was found in a wooded area of the Phoenix Park two weeks ago tomorrow.

She was identified at the weekend after DNA samples from her family in Romania confirmed her identity.
