A 10-year-old boy, who was wounded in a shooting incident in Drogheda in Co Louth yesterday evening, has been transferred to Beaumont Hospital.
He is being treated in the intensive care unit, where his condition is described as critical but stable.
It is understood the child was wounded in the head by an air rifle.
Gardaí are investigating.
