Phoenix Park - Woman's body found last week

A reward of €10,000 is being offered for information leading to the identification of the woman found stabbed to death in the Phoenix Park last week.

Gardaí say they have had an unprecedented level of co-operation from the general public.

However, the woman has still not been identified, despite the release of two photographs last week (below).

Detectives have today released more photographs of the woman and some of her personal belongings in an appeal to people to come forward.

Colour photographs of the woman were issued along with photographs of jewellery the woman was wearing when her body was found.

The woman died after being repeatedly stabbed in the upper body.

She was 4'10", of medium build, with brown shoulder-length hair and aged in her 40s.

She was wearing a green or grey zip-up fleece, a striped red and blue top and three-quarter length pink leggings. She had gold nail varnish on her toes.

The woman was wearing a gold religious medal, a gold Celtic cross necklace and gold Creole-type hooped-earrings.

Her killer or killers have not been located.

Superintendent Dave Dowling from Blanchardstown Garda Station said: 'We are especially appealing to anyone who may recognise the woman from the photograph or from the description of her clothing to come forward.'

The Crimestoppers Trust is now offering a €10,000 reward and anyone with information should call 1800 250 025.

All calls are dealt with in confidence.
