A 28-year-old woman has appeared at Belfast Magistrates' Court accused of murdering her husband at the weekend.
Teresa Rafacz, aged 28, was charged with the murder of 29-year-old Piotr Rafacz on Saturday.
Mr Rafacz was found dead at a flat on Cliftonville Road, where the couple lived with their three-year-old son.
Ms Rafacz denies the charge.
Her brother Pawel Czop, 26, from Clifton Crescent in Belfast is accused of trying to impede her arrest or prosecution by moving the victim's body.
The court heard that Teresa Rafacz came to Northern Ireland from Poland two years ago, with her husband and child joining her in January.
Mr Rafacz apparantly suffered from epilepsy brought on by drinking alcohol. Ms Rafacz says that her husband fell and hit his head in their flat.
However, detectives said that the victim's injuries were sustained 'not solely as a result of a fall'.
Mr Czop's lawyer said his client had been living in Northern Ireland for more than three yearsa nd until recently he had worked in the building trade.
Investigators opposed bail due to the risk of flight back to Poland.
Both accused were kept in custody until the case is heard again next week.
