Some 6,000 jobs have been lost at IDA-assisted companies so far this year.

The majority of the jobs lost were at Dell and SR Technics.

According to the IDA's annual report for 2008, approximately 2,300 jobs have been generated.

CEO of the IDA Barry O'Leary called for wage reductions of up to 15% in some sector. He said Ireland had priced itself out of certain markets.
