A second man has been arrested as part of the investigation into the murder of James Cronin in Limerick in April 2008.

Mr Cronin's body was discovered on waste ground beside the city's railway line.

A man in his 20s was arrested in Limerick yesterday evening and is being held at Henry Street Garda Station.

He can be held for up to a week.

Meanwhile, a 24-year-old man arrested on Monday as part of the same investigation has had his time in custody extended.
