Gardaí are searching for four men after an armed robbery took place in the Ulster Bank on Market Street in Cootehill, Co Cavan.
Detectives have since discovered the get-away car used in the raid. The car was found burnt out on a roadway in Tullyvin.
A fire arm was also found at the scene of the burnt out car.
A gang of three or four men entered the Ulster Bank in the village before 5pm.
They demanded cash and are believed to have secured several thousand euro.
No one was injured in the raid and no shots were fired.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who have may have been in the Cootehill area and may have seen a number of individuals acting suspiciously. They are also trying to trace the movements of a red Toyota Corolla.
