Raiders have used a mechanical digger to remove an ATM from a Bank of Ireland branch in Co Kilkenny.
The robbery took place at around 5.30am when a JCB was driven into the front of the Bank of Ireland branch in Graiguenamanagh.
The branch is directly opposite Graiguenamanagh Garda Station, which was unoccupied at the time.
Gardaí say a substantial amount of money was taken and they are looking for two cars and a trailer which they believe were used as getaway vehicles.
Last Friday, thieves used a mechanical digger to steal an ATM from Mother Hubburd's restaurant near Moyvalley, Co Meath.
