A number of homes and vehicles have been damaged following an arson attack in the Briarshill area of Galway.
Three vacant houses and an unoccupied caravan were set on fire and three vans were burned out.
The incidents were reported to gardaí at around 2am and local fire brigade units remained at the scene on the Monivea road for a number of hours.
No-one was injured in the incident.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested and is being held at Mill Street Garda Station.
