An Oireachtas Joint Committee delegation has met members of local management at SR Technics.

The delegation toured the plant at Dublin Airport and met union shop stewards.

Labour Party TD Tommy Broughan said the visit was to highlight the shortfall in the SR Technics' pension provision for workers and the redundancy offer.

He said they wanted the Taoiseach and Tánaiste to do their utmost to save as many jobs as possible.

The delegation comprised of Mr Broughan, Fianna Fáil TD Michael Kennedy, Fianna Fáil Senator Martin Brady and Labour Party Senator Brendan Ryan.

Earlier, a protest march by SR Technics workers took place from the Coachman's Inn on the main airport roundabout to the old north terminal in Dublin Airport.

It got under way at around 11am.

Motorists were warned of lengthy traffic delays around the airport.
