The Criminal Assets Bureau has today seized two luxury bullet proof armour plated BMWs from the McCarthy/ Dundon criminal gang in Limerick.
The cars were made to order and imported from Germany by Wayne and Gerard Dundun, and were driven around Limerick from December 2007 to April 2008.
Today the High Court declared that the cars, one a BMW X 5, the other a BMW 3 Series car were the proceeds of crime and handed them over to the CAB.
It brings to five the number of luxury cars taken from the Limerick criminal gangs in the last two months.
A Mitsubishi Showgun worth €50,000 was seized in January and earlier this month the Criminal Assets Bureau sold a Toyota Landcruiser and a Toyota Avensis worth an estimated €60,000 and €90,000 respectively from a rival Limerick criminal gang.
