A 20-year-old Drogheda man has been jailed for life after being convicted of the murder of another man in December 2007.
Keith Cunningham, of Halpin's Terrace in Drogheda, admitted manslaughter but denied the murder of the 41-year-old Des Kimmins in December 2007.
The court heard that Mr Kimmins was fatally stabbed during a row.
The row occurred when he arrived early in the morning at a house where his daughter was being cared for by Mr Cunningham and his partner, who also had their own baby daughter with them.
Mr Kimmins was separated from the mother of his children.
After four and a half hours of deliberation the jury found Keith Cunningham guilty of murder by a 10 to two majority.
Mr Justice Paul Carney imposed a mandatory life sentence.
The Kimmins family said they chose not to make a victim impact statement.
