Three men have been arrested following a foiled armed raid at a hotel in Co Kildare overnight.
At around 3.45am, three masked men brandishing a sawn-off shotgun were seen acting suspiciously at the back of the Hazel Hotel in Monasterevin.
As gardaí arrived on the scene, a dark-coloured car drove off at high speed.
Following an extensive search, the three men were apprehended in nearby woodland in Clogheen at around 7am.
The men, aged 18, 20 and 35, are being held at Kildare and Newbridge garda stations.
