Two armed men have carried out a raid on a post office in Rathoe, about 12km outside Carlow town.
The men, wearing balaclavas and armed with what are believed to have been handguns, entered the building at around 11.30am this morning and demanded money.
They escaped with an undisclosed sum of cash in a red-coloured saloon car and headed in the direction of Graiguenaspideogue.
No one was injured in the incident.
