A man who was being questioned in connection with the fatal stabbing of Eddie Gallagher in Cork city last Sunday has been released without charge.
A file is to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Last night, a 27-year-old man was charged at a special court sitting with assault causing harm to Mr Gallagher.
He was released on bail and is due to appear again at Cork District Court later this month.
