A man has been injured in a shooting in Galway city.
The shooting happened in the early hours of this morning in the Ballybane area of the city.
He was taken to Galway University Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries, which are thought not to be life threatening.
The scene of the shooting has been preserved for technical examination and gardaí say they are following a definite line of enquiry.
