A jury in the trial of a 28-year-old man for the murder of another man in Dublin seven and a half years ago have failed to reach a verdict.
Brian Rattigan pleaded not guilty to the murder of Declan Gavin at the Abrakebabra fast food restaurant in Crumlin in August 2001.
After 11 hours of deliberation over four days, the jury of six men and six women returned at noon and told Mr Justice White that they could not agree on a verdict.
The case has now been put back into the list.
