Gardaí in Cork have arrested a second person as part of their investigation into the murder of John McManus.
Just after 3.30pm this afternoon, a man in his early 40s was arrested by gardaí on the northside of the city and taken to Mayfield Garda Station.
He is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and can be held for up to 24 hours.
Meanwhile, gardaí at Gurranabraher are continuing to question a woman in her 30s arrested on the northside of the city this morning.
She is also being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
John McManus, who was originally from Fermoy in north Cork, disappeared from his home in Cork city in November 2008.
His body was found at the side of the road near Ballyduff in north Kerry a couple of days later on 6 November.
A post mortem examination indicated that he died violently and gardaí are treating his treating his death as murder.
