A 23-year-old has appeared in court charged with the murder of mother-of-two, Sharon Whelan, in Co Kilkenny on Christmas Day.
Brian Hennessy with an address at Windgap, Co Kilkenny appeared at a special sitting of Kilkenny district court this evening.
Mr Hennessy was also charged with two counts of criminal damage.
He was granted legal aid and was remanded in custody to appear in court again next Tuesday.
