The 18-year-old sister of a Kilkenny man who died of a stab wound two days ago has been charged in connection with his death at a special sitting of Kilkenny District Court.
Caroline Brennan, of Love Lane, Castlecomer, was charged with recklessly or intentionally causing assault to her brother Michael Brennan at No 25 Barrack Street, Castlecomer.
Judge Gerard Furlong remained her to Dochas Female Prison at Mountjoy to appear in court again next Monday.
The victim's body was found at the small cottage he shared with a number of other men after gardaí and the emergency services were called.
Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis carried out a preliminary examination of the body before it was removed from the house.
